As a native Midwesterner, writing as the voice of Pure Michigan's social channels has been an honor and a privilege. While I’m no Tim Allen (which I’d argue is a good thing), I was able to enjoy the fruits of Michigan from the comfort of my home in Chicago. Across all channels, we had an audience of nearly 3 million people, created an average of 22 social posts per week, and grew the TikTok audience by 66.9%.
Over our holiday break, word got out that Mickey Mouse was free rein, as the copyright from the original Steamboat Willie had expired. As somebody who spends too much time on the internet, I notified my team of this and an idea for the Pure Michigan accounts, which got us noticed by a local news channel for some free press.
